Getting back on course

Off course

Preoccupation with marketing techniques and statistics—the techniques don’t seem to produce results and the statistics are dismal—has put me into a state of creative paralysis. I’m having difficulty moving forward from this point and I’m not able to convince myself that I am first and foremost a writer.

Another grain of sand

Initially, I thought that the mere publication of something I’d written would be enough to expose my work to a reading public hungry to purchase my current release and eagerly await my next release. In an effort to maintain a positive attitude I lost sight of the primary goal—writing and publishing short stories and eventually writing a full length novel.

On course

Being an unknown author and attempting to create a story that appeals to a particular reader is probably the main cause of indecision—I need to write what is inside of me.
